The What It Bees Like Host-A-Hive Program is a partnership between What It Bees Like and the Hive Host. Approved properties may host managed honey bee hives, which are installed and maintained by What It Bees Like and its authorized beekeepers. All bees and equipment remain the property of What It Bees Like. The Host provides space and reasonable access for hive maintenance.
The Host confirms they have the legal right to host hives on the property and agrees to maintain the space in accordance with local and state regulations. Hive placement must remain as installed unless otherwise approved.
What It Bees Like is responsible for hive maintenance, inspections, and honey harvesting.
The Host agrees not to do the following without prior approval:
Open or move hive equipment
Perform maintenance
Allow unauthorized third-party access
Any concerns or issues should be reported directly.
Hive hosting operates on a 12-month plan per hive.
Plans may be billed monthly or annually
Payments are considered late after 14 days
Services may be paused after 30 days of non-payment
Continued non-payment may result in hive removal without refund
Recurring billing continues unless canceled.
Plans are fixed during the initial 12-month term
Change requests may be considered but are not guaranteed
Agreements renew automatically unless canceled with 30 days notice
Updated pricing or plan terms may apply at renewal
Either party may cancel due to safety, compliance, or other valid concerns. Hives may be removed if necessary.
Hive relocation may be approved within the service area if the new site meets requirements. Moves under 3 miles may increase disorientation risk. What It Bees Like is not responsible for neighbor-related concerns.
All hive equipment remains the property of What It Bees Like and will be removed upon contract termination unless otherwise agreed.
If a hive fails due to natural causes, it will be replaced when possible. Timing depends on bee availability. All agreement terms remain in effect regardless of hive status.
Honey production is seasonal and not guaranteed. Hosts will receive agreed-upon honey or beeswax when available. In some cases, shares may be supplemented from other hives.
Hosts may receive discount codes for What It Bees Like products during active agreements. Codes expire at the end of each term.
Beekeeping involves inherent risks, including bee stings. Hosts accept responsibility for themselves and others on their property. What It Bees Like is not responsible for injuries, medical treatment, or damages resulting from hive presence or unauthorized interference.
These terms may be updated periodically. Continued participation in the program constitutes acceptance of any updates.
